The original body design of this very distinctive and unique guitar was the brainchild of two individual Japanese guitar manufacturers who together came up with the design in 1974. From 1975 the guitar was sold under both manufacturer's brands but in all this time it has never been made available in left hand! Redesigned in Australia, the Gaskell ICE-AXE is inspired by the late-1990's version of the original which has twin humbucking pickups, Tun-O-Matic bridge, single volume and tone, body binding, and dot inlays. The headstock is a Gaskell, the only part of the guitar that does not resemble the original. The mahogany body, maple neck, and humbucking pickups give this guitar a very aggressive, in-your-face sound and it is a match made in Heaven for Rock musicians and lead guitar players. You can get warm, clean bluesy sounds as well as full-on Metal lead and rhythm, so it is not limited to any one style. Any guitarist will enjoy the Gaskell Ice-Axe!
